Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I re-use my candle containers?
A. That's a great question, I always encourage my customers to recycle the glass containers in order to respect our environment. In fact, I look for containers that have multiple uses. For instance, the butter dish candle; when you are through burning the candle, you can re-use the container as a candy dish, or add some small fresh flowers to create a lovely table decoration. Or, and this may sound a bit out there- use it as a butter dish.
I also encourage you to break up your pillar candles when you have finished burning them and add the leftover wax to one of our tartlet burners. This will bring you many additional hours of scented enjoyment!
Q. Are your wax candles made from natural ingredients?
A. I use only natural vegetable and soy waxes in my candles. This will ensure that the candles that you purchase from Scents Of Humor are not only highly scented, but will be clean burning as well, giving you total scentisfaction.
Q. Can I place my votives and pillars on a dish or do I have to have them in a holder?
A. Votives must be placed in a votive holder and pillar candles in a dish that is larger than the candles because the wax that I use for votives will burn completely down giving you the option to re-use your candle holders and not have to scrape out any left over wax. For the pillars, I specially blend my wax and have found the perfect wick that burns clean down the middle and doesn't drip (in most cases). With the leftover wax, I suggest breaking it up and putting it in a tart burner so that you can enjoy your scented candle a few more times.
Q. How do you come up with your product names?
A. Okay, I would love to tell you that I'm just a marketing genius, but I'm not. Sometimes it takes a cocktail or two to bring out my creative side to come up with some of my "scents of humor".
